NemoSens Micro-AUV in Sea Technology Magazine
France-based company RTSYS has been working since 2015 on a new type of micro-AUV, christened NemoSens. Several public and private partners helped financethe project: BPI France, Brest Métropole Océane, Brittany Region and the Finistère Département. The project was certified by the Pôle Mer Bretagne-Atlantique, ENSTA Bretagne, IMT Atlantique Engineering schools and FMC Composites contributed their expertise in signal processing and robotics.
The aim was to build a new type of small, lightweight,powerful and flexible AUV, so that scientists and offshore engineers can maximize its use at an affordable price.
To achieve this, NemoSens was designed with an open Linux-based architecture so end-users can develop their own mission algorithms from a ROS or MOOS-IVP interface.
In addition, an open web forum will be available in the near future through a dedicated website. Users will then be able to collaborate, as in any open-source project.
